Generating evidence-based policy research to inform policy in low-income countries.
The Centre for Economic Policy and Development Impact Evaluation (CEPDIME) is an independent, non-partisan regional policy research Think Tank established in 2021 dedicated to generating evidence-based policy research to inform policy in low-income countries. The centre aims to bridge the gap between academic research and policymaking by generating, synthesizing, utilizing and scaling up evidence to help policymakers implement and translate evidence into actionable policy outcomes.
We provide high quality, evidence-informed policy analysis to government, international development agencies, and private sector. We work with local leaders and policymakers to identify local community needs, generate evidence, and use evidence to solve problems. We aim to foster a culture of evidence-informed policymaking in economic development policy and public policymaking by supporting governments, private sector, and international development agencies to address institutional and systemic barriers to evidence use. By generating practical evidence and providing technical assistance to promote the uptake of the evidence in policy decision-making processes, we hope to grow the community of practice in evidence-informed policymaking.
The Centre’s priority focus is on delivering client-based solutions in areas of macroeconomic policy management, economic growth and development; development impact evaluation, enterprise development, private sector development and competitiveness; market system development, finance (development finance, public finance, climate finance, financial inclusion and digital finance), trade, investment, and regional integration, agriculture, food security, and nutrition; water, sanitation, and health (WASH); education, energy, climate change, and environment; youth employment and labor markets; governance and accountability; digital economy and regulation; gender equity and women empowerment;urbanization and development; human capital development, poverty and inequality.
Our mission is to become a leader in conducting independent, in-depth, evidence-informed economic policy research to improve economic and development policy making at local, national, and regional levels.
